Of Royal Blood

25 Aug

To all who cry to sleep at night,
And all who wish they could do right,
For all the broken hearts I know,
All the pain you can’t let go,
Lend me just the time you have,
Call your brother, sister, dad.

We’ve all felt the sting of break,
And done wrong for our own sake,
We’ve all let our Father down,
Wondering why we wear a crown,
But we all have, that’s a fact,
And I know you’re ashamed of that.

But for all of you who dream of sleep,
For those of you in too deep,
All who think that death’s the way,
All who suffer through bad days,
Do not blame yourselves for pain,
Do not cry yourself insane.

I’m here to tell you of the truth,
I hope my words can maybe sooth,
I came to simply to remind you,
Of all the precious things you do,
There’s someone out there, and right here,
No matter what, He’ll always care.

Just listen close, just for a sec,
Your life is not His regret,
He made you, dear, and all your wrongs,
He made it clear He sings your songs,
So don’t you blame yourself for them,
Don’t you break your heart again.

He’s up there and smiling down,
He cares no matter what you’ve done,
His love shines brighter than the stars,
His open arms are never far,
And, of course, he promises this,
You are His Prince or Princess.
